Noverton Farm and Orelton Court Farm

Address: Stanford Bridge, Worcestershire, WR6 6SG

Time of event: 10am opening

In the village of Stanford with Orleton, two local farms have joined forces to give visitors a unique experience of the variety of Teme valley farming on one day; from lambs and calves, hops and apples to a brewery and ‘pop-up’ bar.

In the morning at Noverton Farm visitors will be able to meet the calves and lambs and see sheep dog and sheep shearing demonstrations. There will be plenty of fun photo opportunities with the animals and vintage tractors. David and Michelle Evington open their gates at 10am and the demonstrations will begin at 10.30 am and 11.30 am. The majority of the farmyard is accessible to wheelchairs but please drive right up to the farmyard rather than parking in the field. Teas and cakes available until 12.30 pm when the morning event closes.

The day continues just a mile away at Orleton Court, a traditional hop and cider apple farm. Here Tom and Amber Spilsbury have diversified into brewing their single estate craft lager ‘Tom Jones’ and run the ‘White Pheasant’ pop-up cellar bar which will be open throughout the afternoon. Farm tours will take in the brewery, the hopyards where hops are grown for Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, the hop picking and drying machinery and the orchards where apples are grown for Robinson’s cider. Hot food will be available when gates open at 12.30 pm. Tours begin 1pm and 3pm.

Admission to both farms is free-of-charge.

Stocks Farm

Address: Suckley, , Worcester, Worcestershire, WR6 5EH, United Kingdom

Time of event: 11:00 – 14:00

Stocks Farm, Suckley, Worcestershire are delighted to be supporting LEAF Open Farm Sunday. Please come and join us on SUNDAY 9th JUNE 2019 starting promptly at 11am until 2pm. This is a great chance for the local community to see what happens on the other side of the farm gate and then to visit other farms in the area for a different experience.

Hops are a huge part of the local history, and all are welcome to see how hops are harvested for brewers to use in their beer throughout the UK and across the world.

Stocks Farm will share their knowledge, give you a tour of the internationally famous BRUFF hop picking machine and kiln; explain the growing season of modern hop farming and give you a tour of the eating and cider apple orchards.

This year we welcome our neighbours, Paul and Rob Beaumont, who will be displaying some of their arable operations and providing an opportunity to see how a modern wheat crop is produced. Rob and Paul have also worked along side the team at Stocks Farm for over 30 years and are very familiar with what we do here.

The orchard and arable tours will necessitate some walking – between half a mile and a mile on even ground. Please ensure you have appropriate footwear.

The Hop Shed brewery will be open for you to sample and buy beer and ask questions about the brewing process.

Children’s activities will entertain the little ones, courtesy of Suckley Primary School volunteers.

A mouth-watering pig roast with vegetarian option can be enjoyed throughout this event.

Entry is free with a voluntary donation to Suckley Primary School.
Please book your place at or simply turn up on the day and enjoy, come rain or shine we will be hosting our event! We look forward to seeing you in June!
