So this blog is a little bit different as instead of my normal reviews or days out, it is actually a little bit about me. I hope that you will bear with me though and join me on my journey to help mums like me who have struggled with postnatal depression.
But firstly more about this mountain. In June I will be climbing Scafell Pike as part of One Fit Mama’s Mums Overcoming Mountains to help support mums with postnatal depression. Now those of you who have met me will know that mountain climbing is now very high on my agenda. In fact the last time I climbed a mountain was 20 years ago when me and some friends went camping at the Lake District when we finished our GCSEs and decided to climb the Old Man of Coniston.
So yes, for me this will be challenge. I have less than two months to get myself in a state where I can climb a mountain. However, the money I raise will go to support mums in a way that cannot be prescribed by a doctor. It will go towards free exercise classes, haircuts, counselling and other holistic treatments that give mums a little bit of “me” time.
I will be blogging more about the impact postnatal depression has on me and my journey in the coming weeks. In the meanwhile if you would like to read more about what I will be doing and information on how to sponsor me please head over to my Just Giving page.
